小学生学英语8：
Life on the Farm
Billy lives in the city. His cousin Jane lives on a farm. In the summer, Billy visits Jane.
There is always a lot to do on the farm.
Every morning, Billy and Jane wake up early. They eat eggs and toast with butter. Jane's mother likes to ask them questions as they eat. "Where do we get our eggs?" she asks.
"Easy," says Billy. "We get our eggs from the chickens in the chicken house."
"Yes. And where do we get our bread?"
"Hmmm. That's not so easy." says Billy.
Jane's mother explains. "Your uncle grows crops of wheat. We get grains from the crops and turn them into flour. Next, I use flour to make bread."
Jane is happy. She likes teaching her cousin more about life on the farm. "And we get butter from cow's milk."
"Very good." says Jane's mother. "Now, you know a lot about life on the farm, Billy."
农场生活
比利住在城里。他的表妹简住在农场里。夏天的时候，比利拜访简。
农场里总是有很多事情要做。
每天早上，比利和简起得很早。他们吃鸡蛋和加黄油的吐司。简的妈妈喜欢在他们吃饭的时候问他们问题。“我们从哪里得到鸡蛋?”她问。
“简单，”比利说。“我们从鸡舍里的鸡那里得到鸡蛋。”
“是的。我们从哪里得到面包呢?”
“嗯。那可不容易。”比利说。
简的妈妈解释道。“你叔叔种小麦。我们从庄稼中提取谷物，把它们变成面粉。下一步，我用面粉做面包。”
简很高兴。她喜欢教表妹更多关于农场生活的知识。“我们从牛奶中提取黄油。”
“很好。”简的妈妈说。“现在，你对农场的生活了解很多了，比利。”
